In short: A Bespectacled Life is the act of putting on your life-spectacles and clearly seeing the next step forward to positive lasting change. It’s a call to live life on purpose...
There are three main parts to living a bespectacled life:
Living well across all domains of health: WHOLEistic health
Traditionally, there are 7 domains of health. However, creativity deserves its own domain (instead of being under intellectual), so I have taken the liberty of adding creativity as the 8th domain.
Living well means we are intentionally seeking ways to enhance our lives across ALL of these domains, not just the one we most often think of in relation to health: the physical domain. Realistically, if we stop to think about it, we know each of these domains can add something to our lives. Being healthy means we are not just active and eating well, but connected with others in meaningful ways, engaged in our work, being mentally well, being immersed in (and caring for) our environment, connected to a deeper meaning and purpose in life, constantly learning and thinking outside the box.
Choosing to tread our own path: living on purpose
Its not rocket science, but how often to we actually take the time to stop, hit pause, reflect on where we are going and then take measured steps to re-align ourselves to our specified path in life? Or even to consider what our specified path might be! It is so easy to get stuck on life’s treadmill. If you have a dream, aim for it! Just like we use a map (or GPS) to get us from point a to point b, sometimes we need to stop and take stock before we realise we have wandered off the road and into the forest. Life is a journey and an adventure, and its ok to take a detour or scenic route, just make sure you aren’t simply following the person in front of you- they might be headed for Antarctica and you are wearing your board shorts!
Might I just add this does NOT mean you have a plan and must follow it and ONLY it for the rest of your life- the direction might change, the destination might change too. The point is, you are stopping to consider that fact. That’s the most important part of living on purpose.

Looking beyond ourselves: living with purpose and meaning
Without purpose, life can feel a bit rudderless. The human heart has a desire to know the bigger meaning- to know what the point is. Without this, life feels a bit empty- like something is missing. Personally, I call this a God shaped hole and believe He really is the only one who can fill it. However, I totally get that not everyone is on that journey. So how do you find real meaning? I reckon it has to do with finding joy in the small things, having gratitude and realising the answer isn’t money. Haha! Seriously though, material possessions fade. Relationships grow. Over to you, but I would love to chat more with you about this one!
So, A Bespectacled Life is an invitation to go against the status quo if it doesn’t fit. Choose your own way, tread your own path. Look for joy, be grateful and enjoy living in this here moment. Right. Now.
